
This will be a 10-week course offered one day a week for two hours a session in our kids art studio. 5 famous artists will be discussed. A padlet for each artist will be emailed to each student ahead of time to speed up the student's project ideation. They will look through the padlet on their own to get ideas ahead of the lesson. A short lecture will be given to the students to begin the lesson. The students will come up with their ideas in the first session and will be given their work to take home to work on. The second week the students will be introduced to different mediums and then they will begin working on the completion of their art. Students will take home their art and complete it on their own. The next session will be on another famous artist. The cycle will repeat the same until the ten-week session is complete. Students will have access to art supplies in the shop but may need to have their supplies as they work at home.

The students will Practice skills learned for the day in class, Students will take home their art and complete it on their own. The next session will be on another type of drawing technique. The cycle will repeat the same until the ten-week session is complete. Students will have access to art supplies in the shop but may need to have their own supplies as they work at home.

Drawing techniques covered are: shape vs contour, (seeing the lines or shapes), elliptical drawing, upside down drawing, facial proportions, body proportions, grid drawing, still life drawing, and shading

They will begin their projects and then wrap them up to work on in the next session. The second week the students will be continuing the work on their project. After the second session, they will be allowed to take their project home and then bring them back on the next session to be fired. The next session will be on another project. The cycle will repeat the same until the ten-week session is complete The last weeks are for completing projects with glaze or paint. Students will have access to art supplies in the shop but may need to have their supplies as they work at home.

A padlet for each project will be emailed to each student ahead of time to speed up the student's project ideation. They will look through the padlet on their own to get ideas ahead of the lesson. A short lecture will be given to the students to begin the lesson. The students will come up with their ideas. They may take their art home to continue working on their designs, but not on finishing them because, in the second week, the students will be continuing the work on their project. After the second session, they will be allowed to take their project home. The cycle will repeat the same until the ten-week session is complete. The next session will be on another project. Students will have access to art supplies in the shop but may need to have their supplies as they work at home.

Little kid's camp is set up to be a daily experience with art instruction. The course will last 10 weeks and in that 10 weeks, the kids will experience 10 different lessons geared to their level of art. Many times the art lessons will be based on children's books and stories.
In week one, children will experience the joy of mixing paint. They will be introduced to a book called " I ain't gonna paint no more!".
Week 2 the children will experience learning about the parts of plants and will read a book called " Tops and Bottoms" They will learn about watercolor painting.
In week 3 the students will learn about cardinal directions. They will get to pretend to be pirates and will make a pirate map with oil pastels.
Week 4 The students will read a book called " How do dinosaurs say goodnight" They will make a dinosaur puppet.
Week 5 The students will read " Where the Wild Things Are" and will make crazy creatures.
Week 6 The students will read "Harold and the Purple Crayon and learn to draw a city with lines.
Week 7 is crazy Claymation week.

Week 9 The students will read 'Raven the Trickster Tale and will use shapes to create their own Northwest Inuit animal.
Week 10 In-house art show. Each student will bring their two favorite pieces to place in the art show and celebration. a mini-lesson will be held that day at the beginning. ( Surprise)
